All Country News Friday Find: King Calaway Gets Us “Feelin’ Good”

Updated: Oct 10, 2022

With phenomenal acts like Old Dominion, Little Big Town, and now the quickly rising King Calaway dropping tracks we love, you’ve got to give it to the bands of country music. The four-piece King Calaway has celebrated a successful release week after putting out “I’m Feelin’ Good (Steve Miller Band),” and only a few days before Miller’s birthday no less. The track’s infectious, upbeat energy will get you up and dancing in no time. Oh, and did we mention that Zac Brown, the frontman of Zac Brown Band himself produced this one?

“‘I’m Feelin’ Good (Steve Miller Band)’ is a song you can’t help but groove and dance to,” the band shared. “It’s one of our favorites to play live because the crowd’s energy and reaction to it is just unmatched. We had a great time laying it down in the studio and experimenting with some Steve Miller inspired sounds.”

“I’m Feelin’ Good” builds on their previous release, “When I Get Home,” another Zac Brown collaboration. The writers - Wendell Mobley, Chris Stevens, Neil Thrashe - have come up with an impeccable concept and tackled the songwriting in such creative ways. We have this team to thank for the irresistible hook, which goes like “I’m feeling good, ain’t got no plans / Only place I wanna be is right where I am // Rockin’ my baby with a drink in my hand / To ‘rock’n me baby’ Steve Miller Band.”

Sure to lift anyone’s spirits upon just one listen, we promise that this Steve Miller tribute can effectively replace your daily cup of coffee. We’re so glad that King Calaway pumps us up as they make us reminisce on the 70s and 80s. Complete with a healthy amount of nostalgia and an expert high-profile collaborator, there is nothing not to love. The flourishing King Calaway has done it yet again.
