Amy Grant Returns With 'The Me That Remains', a Bold, Soulful Reflection

Six-time GRAMMY® Award winner and 2022 Kennedy Center Honoree Amy Grant is back with The Me That Remains, her first collection of all-original songs in 13 years. Produced by ten-time CMA Award winner and Nashville Songwriters Hall of Famer Mac McAnally, the album arrives May 8 via Thirty Tigers, signaling a return to Grant’s roots as a songwriter while exploring new depths of reflection and resilience.

Honest Reflections on Life and Healing

Across ten tracks, Grant takes a clear-eyed look at her personal, spiritual, and creative journey. Themes of healing, endurance, connection, and grace run throughout, shaped by decades of experience and the highs and lows of a life in music. The album was first previewed with “The 6th of January (Yasgur’s Farm),” a meditation on unity and perspective inspired by the idealism of the Woodstock era, a song that sets the tone for a more stripped-down, singer-songwriter approach.

Collaboration and Heartfelt Storytelling

McAnally’s understated production allows Grant’s warm, resolute voice to shine. “How Do We Get There From Here,” featuring Ruby Amanfu, wrestles with collective healing, while “The Saint,” co-written with longtime collaborator Michael W. Smith, explores redemption. Additional collaborations with Vince Gill, Sarah Cannon, and Corrina Gill highlight the musical and personal relationships that have influenced Grant’s journey, giving the album both intimacy and depth.

The Emotional Core: The Me That Remains

The title track, released today, is the album’s emotional centerpiece. Co-written with McAnally, it reflects on the life-altering health challenges Grant has faced—including open heart surgery and a traumatic brain injury from a bike accident. The song is a raw, uplifting testament to survival, resilience, and gratitude, with lyrics that linger long after the music fades.

Celebrating the Release

Grant will bring the album to life at an album release show at the historic Ryman Auditorium on May 8, with tickets going on sale February 27. Fans can visit Amy Grant’s official website for details.

A Timeless Voice, Evolving

With The Me That Remains, Amy Grant proves that reflection, resilience, and artistry can coexist. More than five decades into her career, she continues to deliver music that is as heartfelt and timeless as it is relevant, inviting listeners into her story with every note and lyric.
