Country music’s sass is back, and her name is Ashland Craft. The Leo33 powerhouse isn’t mincing words in her latest release, “Kick Rocks Cowboy” and this time, she’s putting the modern-day wannabes on notice.
Directed by Quinton Cook, the brand-new music video for “Kick Rocks Cowboy” is a raucous, high-spirited showdown that celebrates the grit, charm, and unapologetic authenticity of the real American cowboy. It’s equal parts satire and salute, a wink to cowboy culture with a perfectly sharpened edge.
The video stars a colorful cast of country personalities and real-life ranchers alike, including viral sensation Orry “Cornbread Cowboi” Lee, rising country artist and reality star Logan Crosby, and saddle bronc rider turned hitmaker Chancey Williams. Together, they square off in a tongue-in-cheek battle for cowboy supremacy, all while Craft, in a show-stealing triple role, tests each one to see who’s truly “cowboy enough” to earn their spurs.
Impacting country radio this week (October 13), “Kick Rocks Cowboy” hits hard as a fiery, no-nonsense anthem penned by Craft alongside hitmakers Jonathan Singleton and Shane Minor. The song takes aim at the surface-level swagger of the modern cowboy image, the kind that values a well-pressed pearl snap over genuine heart and hard work. Craft delivers every line with a wink and a warning: rhinestones and square toes don’t make a man a cowboy.
“The making of the ‘Kick Rocks Cowboy’ music video was the most fun I’ve had making a video to date,” Craft shares of the music video. “I loved Quinton’s concept right from the jump and I could not stop laughing practically the entire day of shooting. Chancey, Logan and Orry were perfect for their roles and kept the entire day full of energy and were SO hilarious and kind! I’m so thankful for everyone who was a part of making this video happen!”
Her co-stars echoed the sentiment, each tipping their hats to Craft’s creativity and country grit.“I had a ball making this video with Ashland,” said Cornbread Cowboi. “From start to finish, it was just a heck of a good time.
