Avery Anna’s breakout moment just got its official stamp.
The rising country star has been named New Female Artist of the Year at the 2026 Academy of Country Music Awards, putting her in elite company alongside recent winners Ella Langley, Megan Moroney, and Lainey Wilson, and signaling that her rapid ascent is no fluke.
The first-time nominee received the surprise honor on Sunday night (April 26), just moments after stepping offstage at the Lone Star Smokeout festival in Arlington, Texas. Fellow breakout artist and frequent collaborator Sam Barber delivered the trophy, turning an already electric performance night into a career-defining one.
Visibly emotional, Anna kept her remarks simple and heartfelt.
“I’m just so grateful for this, I’m so honored,” she told the crowd. “Thank you guys for rallying for me, supporting me and cheering me on… I thank God every day that I get to do this… I’m so grateful for people like you that show up for artists like me and embrace the things that we have to say.”
The win caps a massive few weeks for Anna, who has been one of the most talked-about artists of festival season. Her Stagecoach debut turned heads, highlighted by a pop-up performance with Barber of their Platinum-certified 2025 duet, “Indigo," a fan-favorite that continues to gain traction.
Now, with an ACM trophy in hand, Anna’s momentum is undeniable.
She’s set to take the stage again at the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards on May 17, live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The ceremony will air at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT / 5 p.m. PT, with tickets currently available.
