Bailey Zimmerman Tops Off A Triumphant 2022 With The Release Of "Get To Gettin' Gone"

One of country’s hottest newcomers, Bailey Zimmerman, has blessed fans with an early Christmas present. “Get To Getting Gone” maturely details Zimmerman’s realization that it’s time to leave a relationship.

With this brand new release, Zimmerman tops off a breakthrough year. Recently, the Warner Nashville singer celebrated “Fall In Love” reaching #1 on country radio, a milestone which “Rock And A Hard Place” is bound to hit soon. Next year, he will accompany superstar Morgan Wallen on select dates of his One Night At A Time tour. Billboard recognized the Illinois-born artist’s accomplishments in its year end charts, naming him the #2 Top New Artist on the country charts, and #4 Top New Artist on the multi-genre charts.

“Get To Gettin’ Gone,” co-written with Jason Massey and Greylan James, utilizes a string of metaphors to let a romantic partner know that it’s time to end the relationship. “Said you love the wind, yeah, love to roll with it, it ain't a picket fence you're after/We used to be on the same damn page, now it's like we're on two different chapters,” Zimmerman sings of lovers growing apart. Sonically, the track preserves his signature raspy vocal style, but overall has a more upbeat and bold sound. The contrast between “Get To Getting Gone” and “Rock And A Hard Place,” Zimmerman’s second most recent single, shows how the mentorship from Morgan Wallen has impacted him.

Once again creating the perfect blend of classic rock and mainstream country, the rising star gives his lover a heartfelt yet clear message about breaking things off. With impeccable imagery in the verses and a catchy hook in the chorus, the song reflects the qualities that Zimmerman’s fans have come to love most about him. Adding another gem to his already impressive discography was one of the best ways he could end 2022!
