Let's recap! Last week, news broke that country singer Chris Young had been arrested in Nashville and charged with disorderly conduct, assaulting an officer and resisting arrest after an incident with the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission at a Midtown bar.

According to the affidavit, Young followed the agents and began asking questions before taking out his phone to record them. According to the officers, they completed their identification checks at Tin Roof and continued next door to the Dawg House, and that is where trouble began.

Young and his group of people then followed the officers to the Dawg House and began talking to the patrons and the bartender. Young then reportedly put his hand out and stopped them from leaving when they were done and “stuck” one of the officers on the shoulder, according to a police report. From there, things got ugly. Young was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, assaulting an officer and resisting arrest.

Then the truth came out thanks to a local Nashville news station. Nick Beres of News channel 5 in Nashville broke the video that clearly showed Young being pushed by officers. Chris even took to social media to post his own video showcasing how the events played out.

Chris also took to socials to share the bruises from the altercation.

This morning February 1st, Chris took to social media speaking out for the first time. "Hey guys, so I just wanted to say something. You know, I’m still processing a lot through the false accusations and everything that went on in the past week. But I wanted to say first and foremost, thank you to everybody that had my back. It meant the world to me and I had so many friends and fans reach out and say 'we got you, we don’t believe you did any of this.'

So it’s really nice to see the charges get dismissed. It’s not something I wish anybody has to go through ever. But, like I said, the bright spot was seeing just all the love and support.

So what I wanted to do as a thank you to you guys - because this was not planned - is drop a new song from the album so you guys will have something to listen to. We’re going to put out 'Double Down’ at midnight and I really hope you guys enjoy this one. Crank it up, enjoy it - I appreciate you, I love you, and thank you.

Keep your chin up Chris!
