February 13th 2023

The verdict is in, multi award winner Chris Stapleton made country music proud! Super Bowl LVII got in our opinion the best rendition of "Star Spangled Banner," since Whitney Houston.

"It's one of those calls you think you're not gonna get," Stapleton said at a press conference on Thursday. "And then you get the call and you're like, OK, let's do this."

Following the presentation of the colors, Stapleton appeared on the field dressed in all black with his trusty guitar and no signature hat to give a tender performance.

His rendition was simple yet touching as the Grammy winner let his signature gruff vibrato shine! His anthem felt slow, but it clocked in at 2 minutes, 2 seconds, under the 2 minutes, 5 seconds predicted by oddsmakers.

The anthem clearly hit the hearts of many coaches and players alike. . Eagles coach Nick Sirianni was seen crying during the performance, along with multiple players.

Even some of Chris's country music colleagues chimed in with their seal of approval! Darius Rucker, Ian Munsick, Parker McCollum and more shared their thoughts. “I just saw grown men keep their hats in during the National Anthem and that really sucked. Awesome job @ChrisStapleton u killed it!!!!!!” Rucker said.

Chris will have a busy 2023 between his sold out dates with icon George Strait and his recently announced headlining tour that kicks off April 26 in El Paso, Texas and runs through late August.
