Mickey Guyton, Walker Hayes, and Yola are the latest country artists to be announced for the star-studded lineup at the 2021 CMT Artists of the Year event airing on October 14th. The ceremony will also include performances by artists outside of the genre as well.
The event is scheduled to feature solo performances from three 2021 honorees: Gabby Barrett, Kane Brown, and Luke Combs, along with a remote performance from Kelsea Ballerini, the fourth honoree, with the Jonas Brothers from their "The Remember This Tour" stop in Raleigh, N.C.
Additionally, 2021 CMT "Breakout Artist of the Year," Mickey Guyton, will be performing with GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter Yola, while Boyz II Men along with Pentatonix member, Kevin Olusola, will honor this year's fifth CMT Artist of the Year, Chris Stapleton, with a collaborative performance. Furthermore, Walker Hayes will make his CMT "Artist of the Year" debut with his first-ever award show performance of his viral hit turned Applebee's jingle, "Fancy Like."
"Our year-end celebration keeps growing, and we're thrilled to welcome Boyz II Men, Kevin Olusola, Jonas Brothers, and Yola to the show in addition to our luminous honorees," said Leslie Fram, CMT's Senior Vice President, Music Strategy & Talent. "And in honor of one of the biggest songs of summer that has exploded across social media and beyond, we look forward to having Walker Hayes join our celebration for a can't-miss performance of his history-making hit' Fancy Like.'"
This year, CMT's annual celebration will honor Chris Stapleton, Gabby Barrett, Kane Brown, Kelsea Ballerini, and Luke Combs, alongside "Breakout Artist of the Year" Mickey Guyton and "Artist of a Lifetime" Randy Travis. The show will air live from Nashville's Schermerhorn Symphony Center at 9 pm ET on CMT.
