CMT MUSIC AWARDS Coming to CBS in April

The 2022 CMT MUSIC AWARDS officially has a new date.

CMT announced the CMT MUSIC AWARDS will air live from Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium at 8 p.m. – 11 p.m. ET Monday, April 11th. This year, the show will be broadcasted from Municipal Auditorium for the first time. The CMT MUSIC AWARDS will air live on CBS– another first from country music’s only entirely fan-voted awards show.

“The biggest and best moments in music are coming to CBS this April,” said CBS Exectutive, Jack Sussman, in a statement. “The CMT brand is preeminent in the world of country music, and we are thrilled that their team was able to coordinate a new date to bring this marquee event for television to CBS and maximize the power of the ViacomCBS universe behind it.”

The CMT MUSIC AWARDS are just one of the many awards ceremonies fans can look forward to this spring. The ACM Awards will take place a month prior, streaming for the first time on Amazon Prime Video on March 7th, while the Grammy Awards are set to air on CBS on April 3rd.

The Grammys were originally scheduled to air in January, with the CMT Awards slated for April 3rd. However, due to a surge in COVID-19 cases, the Grammys were rescheduled, pushing the CMT Awards later in the month.

“It’s official: Our three-hour Nashville extravaganza will be LIVE on CBS on April 11th for the first time as part of the Network’s biggest month of music ever,” shared Margaret Comeaux, John Hamlin, and Leslie Fram, Executive Producers of the show, in a statement. “Expect the most unforgettable CMT MUSIC AWARDS yet, jam-packed with the most star-power, world premiere performances and one-of-a-kind collaborations from in and around Music City.”

The 2022 CMT MUSIC AWARDS show will also be available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+. Nominations and voting details for the 2022 CMT Awards are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Performers, hosts, and presenters for the show are also yet to be announced.
