CMT To Air Special Covering Vince Gill's Legendary Music Career

Country Music Television has announced a brand new special celebrating the decades-long, impactful career of legend Vince Gill. The 90-minute program, “CMT Giants: Vince Gill” will air at 9:00 P.M. EST on the television network. It will include an extensive sit-down interview with Gill himself, addressing the highlights of his career, his acclaimed songwriting, his musical inspirations, and what’s next in store for the superstar. Additionally, several of today’s biggest names in country music (including Maren Morris, Carrie Underwood, Chris Stapleton, Emmylou Harris, Keith Urban, Reba McEntire, and more) will perform Gill’s most iconic hits, live from Belmont University’s Fisher Center for the Performing Arts.



Country great Vince Gill is known for his effortless tenor singing, genius songwriting, and advanced guitar skill. The 22-time Grammy award-winner and 19-time CMA award-winner truly needs no introduction. Gill additionally received the prestigious BMI Icon Award in 2014, induction into the Nashville Songwriters’ Hall of Fame in 2005, induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2007, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2012.


The CMT Giants programming, which launched in 2006, has celebrated the careers of several country greats. The franchise has previously released specials for Reba McEntire, Hank Wiliams, Jr., Alan Jackson, Kenny Rogers, and Charley Pride.


The CMT broadcast will air on the CBS channel, but alternatively, fans can catch it on Hulu, YouTube TV, Fubo TV, or DirectTV Stream if they do not have a cable connection.
