Today, self proclaimed heartbreak troubadour Troy Cartwright lives up to his name as he gifts fans a song they can cling to. Grappling with the loss of his soulmate and watching her say I Do to someone new, Troy finds creative ways to share his story.

Being able to paint an Odyssey of a story in just three minutes speaks to the musical mastermind that Cartwright is. Rattling off all the things that went right before heartache set it, from getting along with her dad, to late night drives in a truck Troy's silky country tenor seeps into every note. Hauntingly intoxicating, the honest track taps into the feeling of 'what if' that so many of us feel. Relishing in the fact that she is no longer one call away, Troy begs for a break from heartache.

“It's one of the best songs I've ever written and I think it speaks for itself - sometimes you aren't with someone anymore but that doesn't mean you don't care about them,” Cartwright explains. “It's a weird thing - there are a lot of reasons why it may not be appropriate to reach out to someone who isn't a part of your life anymore - but that doesn't mean you don't care. This a song about wrestling with that feeling.”

A Music Row staple, Troy has a way of finding acute moments from everyday life and truly amplifying them. From note to note the sonically provocative track pulls fans in and makes them close their eyes to recount this moment in their lives. Troy is one of today’s most innovative tunesmiths and it just keeps getting better!
