“Break the Silence” Gives the Project Its Heart
The EP’s emotional centerpiece is “Break the Silence,” the final song Jack and Cirillo wrote together. Cirillo initially sent her its unfinished lyrics before he was diagnosed with brain cancer, knowing how passionately she advocates for at-risk youth, abuse awareness and mental health.
Following his diagnosis, Cirillo experienced a brief period when he felt well enough to write again in short bursts. He, Jack and fellow songwriter Sarah Spencer came together and completed “Break the Silence” in roughly an hour, finishing just as Cirillo became too tired to continue.
That story alone would make the song meaningful, but its message gives it an even greater purpose. “Break the Silence” speaks directly to young people who may not have the safety, ability or support needed to advocate for themselves.
Just as importantly, it challenges adults to recognize when they must step forward and become that voice. It is country storytelling with real stakes—and the kind of song that could make someone feel seen when they need it most.
Finding Beauty in the Broken Pieces
Even the EP’s stained-glass artwork carries the story forward. Inspired by lyrics from “Heart Into,” the imagery represents the scattered pieces of a life coming together and the unexpected beauty that can be found within them.
