Country music’s rising star DASHA is proving once again that she has a rare gift for turning everyday sounds into stories that hit straight to the heart. With her latest single, “Train," out now via Warner Records, the California native turned Nashville hitmaker delivers a wistful, layered ballad about belonging, memory, and the slow but steady process of calling someplace new “home.”

The song, a standout preview from her forthcoming Anna EP (due October 10), arrives on the heels of her Canadian headline tour kickoff, and it couldn’t come at a more fitting time. Both in sound and story, “Train” feels like the perfect anthem for anyone who’s packed up their life in search of something bigger.
Built on acoustic strums and DASHA’s intimate vocal, the track grows into a full-bodied arrangement with dobro, piano, pedal steel, and a shuffle of drums that mimic the rhythm of a locomotive on the tracks. At first, the train outside her window is a nuisance. But as the song evolves, so does her perspective.
“Because time changes everything / You hang some pictures up and make / Habit out of taking the same way to the grocery store…” that same sound becomes a symbol of comfort, nostalgia, and newfound roots.
“This is actually my first outside cut, which feels so special because Nashville is built on the songwriters and the stories they tell. When I first heard this one, it was like it had been written straight out of my own diary,” shares Dasha of the new release. “It instantly took me back to being 18, leaving home and moving to Nashville to study songwriting at Belmont, figuring out who I was and trying to get comfortable in a brand-new world. All those emotions are wrapped up in this song, and I'm so grateful I get to be the voice behind it.”
DASHA’s Anna EP is already shaping up to be her most compelling work yet, a bold mix of country-pop anthems and intimate, soul-baring ballads that highlight just how versatile she’s become. If “Train” is any indication, this project isn’t just a milestone in her career, it’s a love letter to growth, change, and the beauty of finding home in unexpected places.
Circle October 10 on your calendar. With DASHA at the wheel, this train is just getting started.
