Gabby Barrett sets the bar high for country artists, leading the pack in 2021 Billboard Award nominations. She's a nine-time finalist for the awards, the third most-nominated artist, and the all-genre female artist with the most nods.

Barrett has been nominated in the categories of Top Country Artist, Top Country Female Artist, Top Country Album, Top Country Song, and five other all-genre categories, including Top New Artist and four awards for her collaboration with Charlie Puth on her song, “I Hope.”

Barret is not the only country star to earn multiple nominations. Carrie Underwood collected three nominations for top Country Female Artist, Top Country Album, and Top Christian Artist. Dan + Shay are finalists for both top country duo or group and top all-genre duo/group.

Additionally, Chris Stapleton and Luke Combs have both been nominated for Top Country Male Artist and Top Country Artist, while Stapleton was also nominated for Top Country Album for Starting Over.

Finalists and winners “are based on key fan interactions with music, including album and digital song sales, streaming, radio airplay, and social engagement, tracked by Billboard and its data partners, including MRC Data,” according to Billboard. However, there are also two fan-voted categories at the awards show this year: Top Social Artist and Top Collaboration. Voting for these categories is set to open on May 10.

The 2021 Billboard Music Awards will air live from Los Angeles' Microsoft Theater on NBC May 23 beginning at 8PM ET. To see the full list of nominees, head to the Billboard website.
