Country music super star Garth Brooks isnt messing around. The icon recently shared with Good Morning America the reasoning behind the controversial move.
"I think its a laboratory," told the morning show. "No phone policy, no video policy, makes me go here is a song I was working on today."
While Brook's policy is turning heads, Garth stated that we wants fans to get something "they can't get anywhere else." Today, concerts are full of a sea of phones, and we can't imagine that can be fun to look out on.
This policy has already begun as Garth kicked off the 2023 shows this past weekend! According to an update from Ticketmaster, attendees will have to put their phone in a locked Yondr pouch for the entire event. "Guests maintain possession of their phones at all times and can access their phones throughout the show at designated Phone Use Areas in the venue," Ticketmaster says.
Last year, Brooks finished a 3 1/2-year global stadium tour that boasted over 3 million fans total. With just over 4,300 seats in the Colosseum, the new venue is far more intimate. Plus with, demand being so high that they've already added dates for next year.
GMA asked Brooks if he'd want to play into 2024, to which he said, "You bet your ass I'd love to do it."
New 2024 shows for Garth Brooks/Plus ONE, The Vegas Residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace go ON SALE 5/31. Register now through Thursday, 5/25 at 5 PM PT to become a Ticketmaster verified fan.
