HARDY Stuns In New Album "the mockingbird & THE CROW" Check Out Our Top Tips On How To Listen

January 20th 2023

Genre bending mastermind HARDY beautifully blends both sides of his upbringing in country music with his sophomore album the mockingbird & THE CROW. The genre bender is unapologetic and transparent throughout the 17 track masterpiece. All Country News is officially coining Hardy country music's Jekyll and Hyde.

Tanner Gallagher

Collaborating with Nashville's songwriting royalty (Hillary Lindsey, David Garcia, Ashley Gorley, Jessie Jo Dillon, Jordan Schmidt, Brett Tyler, Hunter Phelps, and more) and some of his own rock icons on the double-sided project, HARDY effortlessly blends the lifestyle he grew up living in rural Philadelphia, Miss. with the music he grew up listening to: Soundgarden, Puddle of Mudd, Pink Floyd, Stone Temple Pilots, Linkin Park, Matchbox 20, and many more.

“I am extremely excited to have this record out,” HARDY beams in a recent PR statement. “I truly believe that this is two years of my best writing and think that it perfectly describes who I am as an artist, having grown up listening to rock 'n roll, but also grown-up country. Thank you to everyone for the support and everybody for working so hard on bringing this record to life. I hope everyone enjoys it."

Hardy is a country music shapeshifter. The facile songwriting and straightforward melodies soar from the album's first to last beat. Hardy is the perfect example that music is MADE in the song, specifically in the lryics. A songwriter at heart HARDY shows that he is the pinnacle of his craft. His relentless pursuit of finding himself in song, helps others find themselves in his perfectly crafted stories. Clearly the country music risk taker is going nowhere.

Not to be iconic, but the album seems to blend the "Michael" and the "HARDY" perfectly.

Tip 1 - Grab a box of tissues

Tip 2 - Listen to the country side first. (lower case songs.) Pay attention to the strong lyricism. Put yourself in the shoes of these stories.

Tip 3 - Buckle up for the rock portion of this album. But don't let the heavy guitar and screams deter you, that same strong lyrical template remains.

Tip 4 - When you hear the lines " you can bet your country ass that," and "everybody sings along," TURN YOUR SPEAKERS TO 100!

Overall no matter how you choose to listen to the new album, the hype was worth it.

Maybe that is why Hardy has such a chokehold on the grenre. By being himself he is now allowing country fans to step into who they are as well. AKA country music and its artists do hold power.
