Inside The Women of Country's CMA Fest Women's Networking Breakfast

In the midst of the whirlwind that is CMA Fest, Saturday morning offered a quiet, intentional reprieve at The Women of Country's inaugural CMA Fest Women's Networking Breakfast, hosted June 7th at the stunning Memoir Residential in Wedgewood-Houston. From 8 to 11am, the space transformed into a sun-drenched haven for artists, industry pros, and media to slow down, sip coffee, and connect without the busy noise of a festival crowd.

Presented by a powerhouse lineup of partners including Studio Bank, Memoir, Kendra Scott, ASCAP, Equal Access, Lucky Money Entertainment, and the Women’s Music Business Association (WMBA), the free event welcomed over 150 artists and industry professionals for a morning of connection, reflection, and community.

"It was a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and to connect artists and industry members who can continue to lift each other up in this challenging industry," said Nicole Marchesi, founder of The Women of Country, who helped bring the gathering to life. "It was a team effort and I’m so grateful to this community and look forward to continue to expand it."

And of course, it wouldn’t be CMA Fest without live music! The showcase gave center stage to rising female voices, including Jillian Dawn, Camille Parker, Jenna Paulette, Valerie Ponzio, Jenna Feeney, and Julie Williams.

One standout moment came when rising star Jenna Paulette offered to mentor the newer generation of artists on the spot, answering questions and sharing her own hard-won wisdom. It was a reminder that while the stages downtown may echo with booming performances, the real growth often happens in quiet moments of generosity like these.

Another highlight came when Julie Williams took the spotlight — acoustic guitar in hand — to deliver a poignant rendition of her song “The Women Who Made Me.” It was a love letter to the female artists and trailblazers who paved the way, made all the more powerful in a room full of women doing just that for each other in real time.

“Everyone puts on a show during CMA Fest, this year I wanted to do something different,” said Nicole Marchesi, founder of The Women of Country. “Our community is working their tails off, and what better way to say ‘you’ve got this girl’ than to treat them to breakfast? Plus a little music and networking, of course!”

The entire morning buzzed with handshakes, hugs, and heartfelt exchanges. The Women of Country's CMA Fest Women's Networking Breakfast wasn't just a much-needed oasis away from the chaos — it was pivotal moment of CMA Fest that reminded everyone that slowing down, showing up, and supporting each other might just be the most powerful performance of all.
