For Eagleson, traditional country music has never been a trend to follow or a lane to revisit. It is the music he grew up loving, and the only kind he has ever wanted to make.
“I’ve always believed there’s a strong fanbase for traditional country music,” Eagleson told All Country News. “It’s the kind of music I grew up loving, and it’s the only kind of music I’ve ever wanted to make.”
That conviction has helped Eagleson build an audience without sanding down the edges of his sound. Now, as fiddle, steel guitar and unmistakable country storytelling regain a stronger presence in the mainstream, the artist finds himself positioned at the center of a movement he has believed in from the beginning.
“I think there are a lot of artists like me who have been waiting for this kind of country music to have its moment in the mainstream again,” he said. “So it’s pretty special to be part of that.”

If Eagleson were planning the character’s ideal honky-tonk crawl, however, he would begin somewhere deeply personal: the Honky Tonk Angel in his hometown.
“I’m not sure how much trouble I’d find these days,” he joked, “but I’d definitely find a way to have a darn good time.”
That answer feels fitting for an artist whose music may carry the spirit of another era without ever sounding like a costume. Eagleson’s traditionalism is rooted in lived experience, genuine enthusiasm and a clear understanding of what makes the genre connect across generations.

“There’s room at the table for every kind of country music,” he said. “It’s pretty incredible to see steel guitar and fiddle having such a strong presence again.”
