Later, Tolman recounts a honeymoon in Mexico involving tequila and disappearing passports, transforming the kind of story most couples would tell their friends over dinner into genuinely imaginative country songwriting.
It is funny, vivid and incredibly specific, which is exactly why it works.

That is Tolman's greatest strength throughout Music City Mutt: she recognizes that everyday life is already interesting enough.
