Jessie James Decker & Billy Currington Join Forces on "I Still Love You"

Today, Jessie James Decker and Billy Currington released a phenomenal new track to stream while burying your nose in your favorite coming-of-age romance novel. On Instagram, Decker described the track as the "greatest, most beautiful song [she's] ever put out in her entire career," and we can't disagree. A country version of "This Love" by Taylor Swift, "I Still Love You" describes a pair of ex-lovers realizing there's still a spark between them, after years spent apart. Reminding us of the book Every Summer After and several Colleen Hoover novels, the track tells a beautiful, tear-jerking story.

Decker and Currington have previously collaborated on "Good Night," a track from the latter's 2015 album Summer Forever. That's the album which contains hits like "Don't It" and "It Don't Hurt Like It Used To" - you've definitely heard them before if you don't live under a rock. Last year, Currington surprise-dropped his most recent record, Intuition, which "I Still Love You" builds on.

For Decker, the new duet follows her 2021 EP, The Woman I've Become, which includes singles "Grow Young With You" and "Should Have Known Better." She recently attended CMT's Artist Of The Year ceremony. Currently, Decker is showing off her dancing chops on the hit TV show Dancing With The Stars, partnering with Alan Bersten.

Both their solo parts and breathtaking harmony on the chorus contribute to the track's sheer emotion. A standout lyric, "I hate the way midnight keeps kicking up memories, like a maze I can't get through," serves as a climax; it follows vivid imagery of an ex walking out the front door and not picking up phone calls, striking a chord with listeners. The muted drum and guitar instrumentals allow the duo's vocals to stand out, covering rekindled love in the most flawless way. With "I Still Love You,"

Decker and Currington have once again proven their status as a power duo in country music. The track blends the longtime friends' individual talents to create something truly special.
