Jon Wolfe Prescribes a Dose of Humor and Honky-Tonk in “Barstool Therapy” Music Video

Jon Wolfe has always known how to deliver a country song that hits where it hurts, and heals where it counts. But with his latest music video, “Barstool Therapy,” Wolfe proves that sometimes the best medicine comes with a side of laughter and a longneck beer.

The video is a clever, cinematic reminder that country music doesn’t always have to take itself too seriously. Filmed at the historic Riley’s Tavern, the oldest bar in Texas and directed by Mason Dixon, “Barstool Therapy” feels like a mini movie that blends heart, humor, and honky-tonk wisdom in all the right ways.

The storyline? It’s as witty as it is relatable. Wolfe plays “Dr. Wolfe,” and his newest patient, country comedian Uncle Lazer, walks in mid–identity crisis, seeking professional advice. Dr. Wolfe’s prescription? A healthy round of “barstool therapy.”

What follows is a brilliant twist: Lazer leaves the office and suddenly finds himself transported into a neon-soaked honky tonk, complete with jukebox glow, sawdust floors, and Wolfe’s band playing live on stage. With every sip of “longneck remedy” and every dance move, Lazer’s worries start to fade, proving that sometimes the cure for life’s chaos really is a night out surrounded by good music and better company.

The video also features a fun cameo from rising country artist and Texas native Braxton Keith, who joins in the barroom revelry. Together, the cast turns a clever concept into a living, breathing story that feels like it was pulled straight out of a classic ‘90s country playbook, playful, nostalgic, and refreshingly unpretentious.

“Barstool Therapy” doesn’t just bring the song to life, it reinvents what a modern country video can be. It’s cinematic but carefree, polished yet playful. In an era where music videos can sometimes take themselves too seriously, Wolfe reminds fans that it’s okay to kick back, laugh a little, and find comfort in a honky tonk kind of healing.

Jon Wolfe may be prescribing “barstool therapy” this time around, but the real treatment is three minutes of pure country joy.
