Josh Turner Rings In The Holiday Season With "King Size Manger" Album & DVD

Imagine transforming a musical album into a movie! It's a meticulous process that requires intense planning and attention to detail. Few artists can successfully take on, but country and gospel singer Josh Turner has made that happen in the perfect way. With King Size Manger, the MCA Nashville artist has reimagined his Christmas record in DVD format, and to say we're obsessed is an understatement.

While Turner cherishes his creative control, serving as a producer as well, he lets his family join in on the fun too. His children play instruments and sing in various parts. Some of Turner's kids needed more convincing than others to be featured on King Size Manger, but in the end, they had lots of fun creating such a massive project together. It felt just like regular family time! "We didn't have a huge crowd for this, we just had a small intimate crowd, it was kind of like being in the big living room and just hanging out with friends and family," Turner told All Country News.

It's clear that Turner's proud of how his masterpiece album, and its accompanying visualizer, turned out. When we asked him his favorite song off of King Size Manger, he struggled to pick one. "They're all so unique and so different from each other," he said to us. "Each song has its own qualities." Although he can only include six or seven songs on the tour setlist, he made sure to include every one of the album's tracks on the DVD. "Singing those songs that we don't normally do live was pretty special, that we captured them in that way," reflected Turner.

Turner has been hard at work in 2022, and for Christmas, he asks for some well-deserved rest! He's sure been nice this year, so we hope Santa grants this wish. The triumphant release of the King Size Manger album and DVD tops off an eventful 2022 for the singer. There's no doubt that this one will remain a holiday staple for years!
