JUST IN! Keith Urban to Be Honored with ACM Triple Crown Award at Star-Studded 60th ACM Awards

Special tribute performances by Chris Stapleton, Megan Moroney, and Brothers Osborne to celebrate the country icon.

Get ready, y’all—country music is about to make history in a major way. According to a press release from the Academy of Country Music, country megastar Keith Urban will receive the prestigious ACM Triple Crown Award at the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards, becoming the first artist to be honored with this distinction live on the ACM stage since Carrie Underwood in 2010.

The milestone moment will unfold on Thursday, May 8, 2025, streaming live around the world on Prime Video and the Amazon Music channel on Twitch at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT / 5 p.m. PT. The event will be broadcast from the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas—the world headquarters of the Dallas Cowboys—and hosted by none other than 16-time ACM Award-winner Reba McEntire.

A Crown Fit for a Country King

The ACM Triple Crown Award is reserved for artists who have clinched three of the Academy’s most coveted honors: New Artist of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Entertainer of the Year. Urban joins this elite club thanks to his wins for Top New Male Vocalist (2001), Male Vocalist of the Year (2005 and 2006), and Entertainer of the Year (2019). It's a full-circle moment for the genre-spanning guitar-slinger who's remained a staple on country radio—and festival stages—for over two decades.

To commemorate the achievement, a trio of powerhouse performances will celebrate Urban's iconic catalog. According to the press release, Chris Stapleton, Megan Moroney, and Brothers Osborne will each take the stage to deliver fresh takes on

some of Keith’s most beloved songs, making it a can't-miss tribute for longtime fans.

60 Years of ACM Magic

As if that wasn’t enough reason to tune in, this year’s show marks the 60th anniversary of the ACM Awards, and the Academy is pulling out all the stops.

The evening kicks off with a 12-minute music marathon of ACM Songs of the Year, spanning six decades of country gold. Expect to see a genre-crossing supergroup featuring Clint Black, Dan + Shay, LeAnn Rimes, Reba McEntire, Sugarland, and Wynonna Judd.

And the collaborations? Absolutely electric. We're talking:

  • Backstreet Boys x Rascal Flatts (yes, really),

  • Jelly Roll x Shaboozey in a genre-defying moment,

  • Brooks & Dunn sharing the stage with Cody Johnson.

Plus, performances from legends and rising stars alike: Alan Jackson, Blake Shelton, Eric Church, Kelsea Ballerini, Lainey Wilson, Miranda Lambert, and New Artist of the Year winners Ella Langley and Zach Top.

A Night to Remember

Whether you’re a day-one Keith Urban fan or just love a good country music spectacle, this year’s ACM Awards are shaping up to be one for the books. According to the press release, the night will celebrate not just one artist’s journey to the top, but also six decades of unforgettable music, moments, and milestones that have defined country music’s heart and soul.

So grab your boots, tune your TVs (or tablets), and get ready to celebrate—because on May 8, the stars are aligning in Texas, and Keith Urban is taking his rightful place among country royalty.
