Born hitmaker and master tune smith Luke Combs has confirmed fan theories that new music is on the way! Yesterday, January 24th the North Carolina native shared a few intimate pictures from the studio.
Luke has never shied away from sharing unreleased tunes with fans, to gage their reactions. Since last November, Luke has teased three tracks, all focusing on his favorite role, dad.
First, Combs took to social media to offer a sneak peek into a brand-new song he's been working on, a soulful ode to the simple life titled "Noah's Arkansas". The artist, armed with just an acoustic guitar and his signature voice, shared a heartfelt snippet of the track that resonates with the tranquility of rural living.
Then in December, with the backdrop of his humble home, and his dog JoJo listening in, Luke shared a song that he said had been on his heart. Luke, a true magician with a pen in his own right, shared a snippet of a song that was sent to him by Music Row staple Wyatt McCubbin. Luke also admitted that he has been on a roll with "dad songs" yet embraced that he was happily in that stage of his life.
"Got sent this song a while back from Wyatt McCubbin that he wrote with Rob Snyder and Jeff Hyde. Last night it was in my head and I couldn’t sleep so I got up and messed around with it for a few hours. Been singing it to myself all morning and as I watched the boys while Nicole got a shower in I recorded this. Hope y’all like it and sorry for all the dad songs but that’s where I’m at these days and I couldn’t be happier about it. A lot more songs to come soon."
The tender track is fresh yet universal. "It's about the journey, don't fill your life with worry," Comb's soulful tenor sings. If you listen close, you can even hear the sweet coos of approval from possible young Beau.
Most recently, Luke teases another "dad" tune with The Man He Sees In Me. Once again sharing the unreleased track in his living room while on dad duty, the sweet track pays tribute to the stage of life he is in.
I hope he never finds out that I didn’t hang the moon
And I never scared a monster out the closet in his room
Someday between him leaving home and driving on my knee
Maybe I’ll finally be
The man he sees in me
Needless to say, whatever Combs is cooking, we are ready!
