JUST IN! Old Dominion Makes History at the Ryman: A Celebration of 7s with Music, Magic, and Giving Back

Announced in a press release today November 22nd, Old Dominion is cranking up the volume on celebration and compassion in true superstar style! After clinching their record-breaking seventh consecutive CMA Vocal Group of the Year win, these country music icons are taking over the legendary Ryman Auditorium for a seven-show residency that’s equal parts intimate concert experience and heartfelt charity extravaganza.

From February 3rd to 6th, fans (aka the beloved “Odies”) will have the chance to see the band like never before, with two shows daily on February 3rd, 4th, and 5th, culminating in a final night to remember. This isn’t just a celebration of their milestone—it’s a mission to make a difference, with each show supporting one of seven major charities close to the band’s heart.

A Magical Milestone at Music’s Mother Church

Winning the CMA Vocal Group of the Year once is monumental—but seven times in a row? That’s a whole new level of history. Reflecting on the achievement, lead singer Matthew Ramsey put it best: “When you’re looking at the Oak Ridge Boys, who are a lot like Mount Rushmore, you realize what an incredible family you’re a part of. To have won this award seven times in a row, it’s a blessing.”

And what better way to mark this milestone than at the Ryman Auditorium, where country music legends are born? But don’t expect big arena-style productions here. This residency will be a love letter to the craft of songwriting, with stripped-down, storytelling-style shows that bring the songs—and the fans—front and center.

For the Love of Music and Giving Back

Old Dominion’s residency is about more than just music; it’s about making an impact. Each show will shine a spotlight on one of the band’s favorite charities:

  • MusiCares

  • Save the Music

  • Backline Care

  • Opry Trust Fund

  • CMA Foundation

  • St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

  • The Ramsey Foundation

These aren’t just names on a list; they represent causes the band has championed throughout their career. For Ramsey and bandmates Brad Tursi, Trevor Rosen, Geoff Sprung, and Whit Sellers, this residency is a chance to combine their love of performing with their dedication to giving back.

“At this point, the best way to celebrate something like this – for us – is to play, to give ourselves and the fans a way to come together in these songs and to help raise resources for some great charities that are out there spreading goodness around trying to help people. But rather than doing a big show, we wanted to give ourselves the permission to strip it all the way back, create songwriter-type shows that aren’t about production, but the songs; to take even more requests and be spontaneous, to create once in a lifetime experiences every single show," Ramsey said in the press release.

An Odie’s Dream Come True

This is a rare chance for fans to see the hitmakers behind “Memory Lane,” “Break Up With Him,” and “I Was On A Boat That Day” in a cozy, intimate setting. Expect surprises, song requests, and a level of spontaneity that turns every show into a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It’s a throwback to the band’s early days in small venues, with all the heart and talent that has made them arena headliners.

So, grab your tickets, bring your signs, and get ready for a week of music, magic, and meaningful moments at the Ryman. Old Dominion’s “7 Shows for 7 Charities” residency isn’t just a concert series—it’s history in the making.
