Lainey Wilson Releases New Song From The Yellowstone Soundtrack

The hit western drama Yellowstone just aired episode 3 of its brand new season on Sunday. The show introduced the character Abby in Season 5 the premiere, an up-and-coming musician portrayed by real-life country superstar Lainey Wilson. Fans heard a previously unreleased song in the last episode, entitled "Smell Like Smoke," as Abby played it at a bar. The next day, Wilson dropped the unapologetically gritty track to all streaming platforms.

Abby was written with Wilson's own musical journey in mind, as a small-town country singer from a tight-knit farming community. The character's songs on the show reflect Wilson's authentic voice, and "Smell Like Smoke" is no exception. It embraces the same material and themes as Wilson's recently released sophomore album Bell Bottom Country.

Wilson's 2018 throwback "Workin' Overtime" has also appeared in Yellowstone. She performed this song at this year's ACM Honors, as Yellowstone received its Film Award.

Safe to say that Abby's one of our new favorite parts of Yellowstone! As we tune in every week, anticipating Dutton family and political drama, we have Lainey Wilson's breathtaking voice to look forward to as well. Fans can tune in to the award-winning Paramount series on Sundays at 8PM EST. We're so excited for the rest of Season 5, especially the development and music of Wilson's new character.
