Lauren Alaina Announces New Album and Releases New Single, “It Was Me”

Lauren Alaina announced that she will release her third full-length studio album, Sitting Pretty on Top of the World, on September 3. The new project will be Alaina’s first major release since her 2020 Getting Good and Getting Over Him EPs.
On July 30, Alaina released the lead track of the album “It Was Me” to fans who pre-order the album. The track, which Alaina called the “favorite track” she has ever written in an Instagram post, was co-written by award-winning singer-songwriter Hillary Lee Lindsey.
The new project also includes her current radio hit, “Getting Over Him,” featuring Jon Pardi and a collaboration with Lukas Graham (“What Do You Think Of?”). The project also features a duet with Grammy Award winner Trisha Yearwood (“Getting Good.”)
“It’s about a dreamer becoming an achiever. It’s being broken and ending up healed. It’s all of me,” Alaina said on the album, “The early chapters. The new beginnings. The hope for the future and total appreciation for the past. Taking the Road Less Traveled and ending up Sitting Pretty On Top Of The World.”
Alaina co-wrote 14 of the new album’s 15 tracks. The album was produced by Paul DiGiovanni, excluding “Getting Good,” which was produced by David Garcia. The project will include 12 new songs and a remixed version of Alaina’s Gold-certified song, “Getting Good.”
The album is not the only project on Alaina’s mind. She is starring in an upcoming made-for-TV Hallmark movie, Roadhouse Romance premiering on September 11, and she is releasing a book, Getting Good at Being You: Learning To Love Who God Made You To Be, on November 2.
