Today (August 5th) Luke Combs becomes a Billboard Country Airplay Chart trailblazer! Combs is now the first artist to have two solo songs claim both the Gold and Silver spots on the Billboard Country Airplay chart since the chart started back in 1990 with Love You Anyway and Fast Car at 1 and 2 respectively.

With Love You Anyway topping the chart, this also becomes Luke's 17th straight number one single. That means every single since the release of his breakout hit Hurricane in 2016 has gone all the way to the top.

Luke has perviously shared the story behind his 17th chart topper.

“Valentine’s Day 2020. I was playing a show and had dedicated “Beautiful Crazy” to Nicole and said, ‘If you’re in here (the arena), I love you. If not, you know I do anyway.’ Unknown to me, my buddy Dan wrote down ‘Love You Anyway’ as a title in his phone after hearing that, then he told me the story later that month when he and I were writing with my good friend Ray Fulcher,” Luke shared. “We loved the idea as a title and decided to write about loving someone so much that even if you knew from the beginning they were going to break your heart, you’d love them anyway.”

Love You Anyway is a song from Combs’ latest project, Gettin’ Old, and was fan voted to go to radio. After some brief time off to be with his family and new son Beau, Luke Combs will head across the pond at the end of September to wrap us his record breaking 2023 world tour. The 14 stops across Europe will conclude with two nights at London's iconic O2 arena.
