Luke Combs, Walker Hayes and More Top 2021 Billboard End of Year Charts

Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton, Chris Young, Kane Brown, Walker Hayes, and Lainey Wilson are country music’s 2021 chart-toppers, according to data released by Billboard.
Billboard’s charts included lists ranging from all-genre to country-specific. Stapleton, Combs, and country duo Dan + Shay finished 2021 with songs in the all-genre Hot 100 Artists list. Combs finished with his song, “Forever After All,” sitting at 18 on the all-genre Hot 100 Songs of the Year. Hayes joined Combs in the first half of the all-genre Hot 100 Songs for the Year with his song “Fancy Like” at 27.
Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album was crowned No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart, with Combs trailing closely with What You See Is What You Get at seven and This Ones for You at 29. Stapleton also finished in the top 50 with Starting Over charting at 32.
In addition to the all-genre categories, Combs leads the pack on country music-specific charts. Combs, Thomas Rhett, and Luke Bryan made the Year-End Country Airplay Artists Chart. Chris Young and Kane Brown nabbed the No. 1 spot on the Country Airplay Songs chart, meaning that Young and Brown’s “Famous Friends” was the song country radio played the most times.
There were no songs by women in the top ten of country radio. Lainey Wilson’s “Things a Man Ought to Know,” Gabby Barrett’s “The Good Ones,” and Miranda Lambert’s “Settling Down” placed just outside with songs at 13, 14, and 15, respectively.
Barrett sits at No. 4 on the Top Country Artists list, and Carrie Underwood is at No. 10. Meanwhile, Lainey Wilson had a career-defining year finishing No. 1 on the Top New Country Artists chart.
Lastly— and which should come as no surprise to anyone— Walker Hayes’ “Fancy Like” dominated digital sales, coming in at No. 1.
