Maddie & Tae Drop Ruthless Breakup Track “Spring Cleaning”
Maddie & Tae did not come to play around - the beloved UMG Nashville duo is getting a head start on their “Spring Cleaning.”

As if the flawless track wasn’t enough, Maddie & Tae also released the accompanying music video. In a disco ball-illuminated room, the singer/songwriters clean up any traces of a previous relationship.
“Your steadiness was seldom, wearing out your welcome / Ain’t a smile and wave with this goodbye,” they warn a no-good ex in the song’s first verse. In one of the track’s most iconic lines, they sing, “So imma say thank you, and let you go, guess I took a little note from Marie Kondo.” We can just imagine Kondo herself watching this amazing video from her own computer, smiling at Maddie & Tae with pride. “So come and get your shit,” they finally emphasize to close out the song. Yes, queens. Mic. Drop.
With bold electric guitars, impeccably savage lyrics, and powerhouse vocals, Maddie & Tae’s new track is truly one of their best to date. The duo always manages to outdo themselves every time, leaving fans in awe. “Spring Cleaning” is surely the post-heartbreak anthem of every season. We hope it motivates women everywhere to take that first step in moving on after a breakup, just like it did for us!
Maddie & Tae are currently on tour; their next few stops include New York, NY, Baltimore, MD, and Nashville, TN. Fans can purchase tickets on their official website. “Spring Cleaning” follows “Every Night Every Morning” as the second single off of the duo’s album, Through The Madness, Vol. 2, which dropped today.
