Rising country artist Jay Webb has never been one to play it safe. With his debut album Where To Find Me, he leans further into the sound he has been chasing for years while unapologetically owning who he is as an artist. The Alabama native describes the record as “a little more country with the production,” calling it an elevated version of what fans have come to expect from him in a sitdown interview with All Country News.

“It’s very accurate for exactly where I’m at right now and where we want to go,” Webb explains. “We put in the work, tried to get better, and really pushed ourselves.” While the album nods to traditional country roots, Webb sprinkles in a moody, Southern Gothic edge that fans have quickly embraced. “I think it’s this mixture of dark and country, which is cool. I never thought about it like that, but I like it,” he says with a laugh.
The title track kicks off the project, a deliberate choice Webb made to set the tone right from the start. “A lot of times when there’s a title track, it’s buried in the middle somewhere,” he says. “It made sense to start with the single and just go for it.”
Webb’s creative process favors capturing the spark of a song as soon as inspiration strikes. “I don’t like to live with demos too long because you can lose that magic,” he explains. “Most of the time we write and produce the song the same day.”
That energy is especially evident on standout tracks like "Stoned", a song Webb co-wrote with Beau Bailey, Cole Gibbs and Eddie Eberle. The group had been “chasing that vibe for a long time,” and when they finally nailed the production, Webb knew they had landed on something special.
Not every track came easily." When We Fight" required multiple rewrites before it clicked. “We went through two ideas that day to get to it,” Webb says. “Once it flowed, we knew that was the one.”
One of the more surprising additions to the record was "Summer in America", a track Webb initially hesitated to include. “It didn’t feel like the rest of the album to me,” he admits. “But everybody’s moms and families loved it, and when someone said it felt a little like Kid Rock, I was sold.”
As Webb gears up to take the album on tour, he is most excited to bring "Stoned" to life on stage. “It’s at the top of the set this year with this dark, cool intro. Last year our intro was upbeat, but this one feels deeper and more dramatic,” he teases.
Above all, Webb is proud to finally deliver a project that feels like his true introduction. “This is my first real debut album where I can say, ‘Hey, this is me.’ It’s super country, but it’s not trucks-in-a-field country. It’s something that feels like me, and I’m proud of that.”
With Where To Find Me, Jay Webb doesn’t just introduce himself, he arrives with purpose. It’s the kind of debut that doesn’t chase trends but instead builds its own lane, rooted in country tradition while tinted with grit, introspection, and sonic depth. From the eerie elegance of "Stoned" to the unexpected charm of "Summer in America", Webb shows range, conviction, and a clear-eyed understanding of the stories he wants to tell.
At a time when country music is expanding in every direction, Webb’s debut feels both refreshingly grounded and quietly rebellious. It’s a record that trusts its listeners to lean in, listen closer, and stay for the full journey. And if Where To Find Me is the question, then the answer is simple, Jay Webb is right where he belongs: at the beginning of something remarkable.
