Mike Ryan Releases New Rock-Inspired Single "Die Runnin"
Singer, songwriter and guitarist Mike Ryan just dropped the gritty and soulful “Die Runnin’.” The single, which Holler has praised as the “kind of song you wish could go on forever,” precedes Ryan’s new album Longcut.
“Die Runnin’” perfectly melds the genres of country and hard rock, rendering it irresistible for fans of both genres. We’re obsessed with Ryan’s distinctive and constantly evolving sound. His self-described “urgency” and “rock n’ roll driving rhythm” merges with a classic southern twang, as well as wistful lyrics addressing heartbreak and distance, to create something truly special.
Perhaps the lyrics, “Couple thousand miles ain’t nothing, there’s no such thing as too far / I’ll be showing up on the double, first sign of trouble I’m coming” showcase Ryan’s impressive songwriting best. The catchy melody and buildup of electric guitars in the chorus of the song adds to its memorableness.
“There’s definitely some sonic growth on this new album coming, including this new single,” says Ryan. “We brought in a few new players and different elements that I thought were really crucial in making this album sound as good as it does.” A star on the rise, Ryan proves his fearlessness and eagerness to try new things early in his career.
So far, all of Ryan’s released songs have gained a total of over 265,000,000 streams, with ten of them surpassing the 10,000,000 mark. Included in Apple Music’s Breaking Country, Pandora’s Artist to Watch, and Sirius XM’s “The Highway,” the San Antonio, Texas native is quickly climbing the ranks within country music. The charts seem to love him - Ryan has scored nine #1 singles on the Texas music charts, a #15 Billboard Heatseekers Album with Blink You’ll Miss It, and a Top 40 placement on Billboard’s Independent Albums with the same project.
Ryan has collaborated with the legendary Brad Paisley on “Last Time For Everything” (Paisley’s Top 20 song) and “The Rewrite” (Ryan’s own previously-released song). Fresh off of performing with Koe Wetzel, Riley Green, and Miranda Lambert, Ryan will soon support Morgan Wallen in his first ever stadium show this October.
We simply can’t get enough of “Die Runnin’”, and we wish October 28th would come sooner so we can listen to Longcut in full!
