Miranda Lambert Honored By Home State Of Texas For Her Achievement In Music

Proud Texan and country music superstar Miranda Lambert has a lot to celebrate. The CMA winner took to Instagram Friday to share her big news! The singer shared pictures of her in her home state at the Texas Medal of Arts Awards, where she received a medal from the Texas Cultural Trust.
The highly prestigious award has only been handed out a few times since 2021. Other Texans that have received this award include Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Kenny Rodgers and Matthew McConaughey.
Lambert a Lindale, Texas native was awarded alongside actor Luke Wilson and screenwriter Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone, 1923). As well as Carole Cook, who received the Lifetime Achievement award during a special In Memoriam part of the awards.
Lambert was joined by longtime friends and collaborators Jack Ingram and Jon Randall to perform for awards goers. The three-time GRAMMY winner performed “Two-Step Down To Texas” from their 2021 project, The Marfa Tapes.

"All of us Texans are already proud anyways," Miranda says of her honor. "But the fact that the state lifts up art and arts of all kinds and has a whole celebration for us and to support us. It is really such an honor and I don't take it lightly."
