Save room for Miranda Lambert.

The Texas native is heading home for Thanksgiving, taking over AT&T Stadium for the Dallas Cowboys’ halftime show as they face the Philadelphia Eagles. And while bragging rights will be on the line during the game, Lambert’s performance comes with a purpose that reaches well beyond the scoreboard.

The three-time GRAMMY winner will headline the 30th consecutive Salvation Army Red Kettle Kickoff, launching a holiday giving campaign that supports neighbors in need across the country.

Football, a homecoming and one of country music’s most commanding performers? That’s a Thanksgiving menu we can get behind.

A Texas Homecoming With Heart

Lambert has built a career on songs with backbone, sharp edges and plenty of heart. This Thanksgiving, she’ll bring that spirit to one of the biggest stages in sports, with her home state as the backdrop.

“There’s something special about how music brings people together, especially when it’s to spread joy and hope to families who need it most,” Lambert said. “The Salvation Army and the Dallas Cowboys have built an incredible tradition with the Red Kettle Kickoff, and I can’t wait to be back home in Texas this Thanksgiving to help carry it forward.”

No setlist has been announced, but Lambert has no shortage of material built for a stadium. The fun now is guessing which side of her catalog she’ll bring to the field: fiery, heartfelt or a little of both.

Thirty Years of Turning Halftime Into Help

This halftime tradition started with a challenge.

In the 1990s, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones tasked his daughter, Charlotte Jones, with getting fans as invested in the team’s impact off the field as they were in its performance on it. Her idea: turn the nationally televised Thanksgiving halftime show into the launch of The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign.

Reba McEntire headlined the inaugural show in 1997. Since then, the stage has welcomed Carrie Underwood, Destiny’s Child, the Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez, Dolly Parton, Lainey Wilson and, most recently, Post Malone.

Lambert now joins that lineup for a milestone year. Across three decades, the kickoff has helped the Red Kettle Campaign raise more than $3.4 billion.

“For 30 years, incredible artists have appeared on our halftime stage to help The Salvation Army bring hope to millions of people in need,” Charlotte Jones said. “We’re grateful to Miranda Lambert for joining that legacy and helping us continue this meaningful tradition.”

How to Watch

The Dallas Cowboys take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Thanksgiving Day, with the game airing on Fox at 3:30 p.m. CST. Lambert will perform during halftime.

The appearance launches The Salvation Army’s 136th Red Kettle Campaign, with donations staying in the communities where they are given to support local needs.

For fans, it’s another reason to gather around the television between helpings. For Lambert, it’s a chance to come home and put that unmistakable voice behind something bigger.
