Miranda Lambert Just Dropped a Surprise Duet With Parker McCollum, but Fans Have Only Days to Get It
The Texas friends reunite for “Seven Year Ache,” a limited-time iTunes exclusive keeping Miranda’s Crisco celebration rolling.
Miranda Lambert isn’t finished handing out surprises.

Fresh off the October 2 release of her new album, Crisco, the country superstar is giving fans another reason to celebrate: a previously unreleased version of “Seven Year Ache” featuring Parker McCollum.
Two Texas favorites taking on a Rosanne Cash classic? That’s a bonus worth paying attention to. But fans hoping to add this collaboration to their collection will need to move quickly.
A Country Classic With a Texas Connection
Lambert and McCollum’s latest collaboration revisits Rosanne Cash’s 1981 chart-topper “Seven Year Ache,” bringing the longtime friends together for another chapter in their musical partnership.
Fans already know these two have history. McCollum previously joined Lambert on “Santa Fe,” a track from her Postcards From Texas album, and they’ve shared the stage on multiple occasions.
Their connection also extends beyond the music. Last year, the pair helped spearhead “Band Together Texas,” a benefit concert that raised more than $8.5 million for flood relief efforts in their home state.
Now, they’re giving fans another collaboration to tuck into their libraries, and the admiration behind it goes both ways.
“He’s the Real Deal”
For Lambert, working with McCollum comes down to something she clearly values: an artist who knows exactly who he is.
“I love making music with Parker because he’s the real deal,” Lambert says. “He’s such a natural artist and has that thing you can’t teach. He is authentically himself and you can feel that in his music.”
McCollum is just as enthusiastic about getting another chance to work with someone he’s long looked up to.
“Miranda has always been a big inspiration to me as an artist from Texas,” he shares. “Not only is she one of the most incredible songwriters we’ve got but is also hands-down one of my favorite Country voices ever. I'm honored any time I get the chance to work with and learn from her.”
That mutual respect gives fans another reason to dig into this latest pairing.
