Miranda Lambert Unveils New Album “Palomino”

March 11th, 2022

Fresh off of her ACM Entertainer of the year win, Miranda Lambert shared new album news and dropped a fresh single.

Lambert announced yesterday (March 10) that her eighth studio album Palomino is due Friday, April 29 in a press release. The 15 track project will feature her just-released single, "Strange,” which was co-produced by lambert and longtime collaborators Jon Randall and Luke Dick.

"The making of this record has been one of the most fun and creative experiences of my career," Lambert shared. "Luke Dick, Natalie Hemby, and I went out to my farm in Tennessee in 2020 and started writing songs. We figured while we have time, let's get out to the country and see what happens. The first one we wrote was 'Tourist,' and that set us on a path to create something with a bit of a theme. Since we couldn't travel at the time, we decided to go on a journey through songs. I hope y'all are ready to travel with us wandering spirits and meet some cool characters with great stories."

Three songs on the album were part of her 2021 GRAMMY-nominated collaborative project The Marfa Tapes album with Jack Ingram and Jon Randall: "In His Arms," "Geraldene," and "Waxahachie." Another familiar song on the tracklist is Mick Jagger's "Wandering Spirt," from his 1993 solo album.

The project is the hitmaker's first solo album since 2019's GRAMMY-winning Wildcard and follows The Marfa Tapes and Pistol Annies holiday album Hell of a Holiday.
