Nate Smith Dedicates "I Found You" To Music & How It Saved Him
Need a heartwarming, affirming ballad to lift up? Nate Smith has got your back! With “I Found You,” Smith has collaborated with songwriters Chris Gelbuda and Kyle Schlienger to create a special follow-up to the highly acclaimed “Whiskey On You.”

The California-born singer/songwriter picks up influences from a variety of classic country, blues, pop, and rock icons - most notably Garth Brooks, Elvis Presley, Nirvana, Michael Jackson, and Bob Seger. Currently on his own headlining tour and set to open select shows for Larry Fleet, the rising star’s unique musical style, impeccable stage presence, and inspirational background set him apart in the country music scene.
In fact, his personal journey with music contains several parallels to the lyrics of “I Found You.” Smith gave up during his first attempt of pursuing a career in country music, in his early 20s, before taking a break from the field. He reached his lowest point in life following the disastrous 2018 Camp Fire, in which he lost everything he owned. During this time, he rediscovered his love for creating music, feeling inspired by how it comforted him and his family. Despite the unfortunate circumstances, Smith’s perseverance rendered him much more successful during the second try.
Smith’s story truly shows us to never give up on our passions, as things will happen when they’re supposed to happen. “I really believe in my heart that everything happens for a reason, and when it’s right, it’s right,” Smith said of the new track. “I really hope people connect to it in a special and personal way!”
“I Found You” may appear to be a simple, sweet romantic ballad on the surface, but those who know Smith’s whole story will realize the deeper message buried in the personal song. With soulful vocals and influences from a variety of musical genres, Smith has once again blessed his fans with a sentimental project. The rising star truly has big things in store for him!
