Noah Silver Drops Haunting Ballad About Spending "Winter Alone"

It's a little late for the height of winter, but rising artist Noah Silver has blessed us with a seasonal track nonetheless. "Winter Alone" employs motifs of cold weather to illustrate the emptiness in his heart following a breakup.

The primarily acoustic ballad features Silver's well-executed croon and expert finger-picking on the guitar. The multitude of emotions behind Silver's self-written lyrics shines through. Echoing the techniques of Jason Isbell and George Strait, "Winter Alone" carries a nostalgic and haunting sound, tugging at the listener's heartstrings like no other.

Silver told All Country News that during the COVID-19 quarantine, the then-ubiquitous feeling of loneliness first inspired "Winter Alone." "I wanted to capture that feeling of laying in bed on a cold winter night, missing your ex and wanting more than anything for them to be back in your arms," reflected the singer. Silver's friends, Peter Taylor and Taylor Dubray, further helped the track come to life, respectively helping him with revising its lyrics and producing it.

The 22-year-old singer/songwriter hails from Phoenix, Arizona. Growing up, he performed at the local Veterans' Affairs hospital. Witnessing the powerful impact of music on the patients inspired him to pursue it as a career. Since his recent move to Nashville, "Winter Alone" is his first official release. If his triumphant debut single is any indication of his future projects, we have no doubt he will continue to amaze us throughout 2023. We're so excited to be following his journey from the beginning, and can't wait to see what he does next.
