Our Favorite Country Songs For Thanksgiving
It’s turkey-lurkey time, y’all! The season of pumpkin pie and holiday shopping is upon us. But more importantly, Thanksgiving weekend is a time for families to reunite and celebrate being in one another’s presence. The holiday centers around faith, gratitude, and making memories with loved ones. On that note, here’s a playlist to get you in the spirit!

"Blessed" by Martina McBride
This Martina classic highlights the joy that her children bring her, along with other little things in life. She reminds us that we are always "blessed" in so many ways, even when we don't realize it.
"It's A Great Day To Be Alive" by Travis Tritt
Every day is truly a great day to be alive. Tritt sings of the beauty in everyday life, even simple activities such as cooking rice in the microwave. Even if we don't always live glamorously, we still have a lot to be thankful for!
"I Could Not Ask For More" by Sara Evans
Everyone has that special person, or a set of people, who just make life worth living. This song is for those loved ones whose presence makes us grateful to be alive.
"I'm Alive" by Willie Nelson
In a heartfelt masterpiece, Nelson covers how our struggles shape us into the people we are today. He gives an important reminder to anyone who might need it right now: despite your battle scars, you're still here today, and you're stronger than you know. And that's something to be grateful for.
"But For The Grace Of God" by Keith Urban
Urban highlights the importance of gratitude for the people and things in our lives, since not everyone is as fortunate as us. One of Urban's earliest hits, this track is a single from his underrated 1999 self-title album.
"Thank God I'm A Country Boy" by John Denver
There's nothing not to love about the good old country lifestyle. It comes with several simple pleasures - for example, playing the fiddle under a scenic sunset. This arguably feeds the soul more than a limousine ride in the city.
"Everything Is Fine" - Josh Turner
Turner sings of his wife, parents, truck, dog, and other parts of his everyday life that he's grateful for. Faith keeps him rooted, as he recognizes how he was blessed with what he has.
"This" - Darius Rucker
It's often said that one small decision or event in our life can completely change its course. Rucker communicates that message in "This," expressing gratitude for all his past experiences that led to where he is today.
"Top Of The World" - Lynn Anderson
This one's for the significant other that brightens your darkest days and shares your happiest moments with you. Play them this song (or whip out your acoustic guitar and sing it to them) to let them know how grateful you are that they're yours!
"Lucky Man" by Montgomery Gentry
Even when school or work gets stressful, or our favorite team loses, there's still so much to be thankful for in life. We're always lucky people, and Montgomery Gentry reminds us of that.
“The Best Day” by Taylor Swift
This one's for the moms! Swift dedicated this underrated gem from Fearless to her mother. The lyrics celebrate Mama Swift's unconditional love of her daughter in every stage of her life. Andrea's enthusiastic support of Taylor has remained constant, as she grew from a shy, musically inclined child to the global superstar she is today. Taylor and Andrea Swift are hands down the best mother-daughter duo!
We could add many more tunes to this list, but these have to be our eleven favorites. We hope this playlist helps y'all ring in the holiday, just like it did for us. All Country News wishes y'all a happy Thanksgiving. We're grateful for country music and all of YOU!
