Our Top 5 Country Songs Of September
In terms of new music releases, last month was one of the best country music has ever seen. Honestly, it was hard to narrow it down to just five new tracks, but somehow we did it. As we welcome the month of pumpkin picking, apple crisp macchiatos, and Halloween, let's reminisce on our five favorite tracks from September!
*dramatic music* The countdown shall now begin.
5. "Back In The Saddle" - Ashley Cooke

Ahead of delivering a landmark Opry performance and opening for Cole Swindell on his tour, Cooke blessed us with this one. Country music's biggest rising star has enjoyed an eventful September, and has a bright future ahead of her. We're in love with her beautiful songwriting and vocals, and can't get her music out of our heads. "Back In The Saddle" is an optimistic post-breakup anthem about moving on and returning to the dating scene. This track follows her earlier release, "Getting Into," and we're so excited to hear them both live.
4. "JACK" by HARDY

With this track, HARDY has officially achieved cool uncle status. A conversational and rock-inspired banger, "JACK" offers words of wisdom to a younger family friend. Longtime HARDY fans would recognize this one, as the star played it at numerous live shows before its official release. Man, rock bottom really ain't as bad when we're rocking with HARDY.
3. "Romeo" by Jordana Bryant

Inspired by Taylor Swift's classic "Love Story," Bryant's recent release offers a fresh, mature perspective. In flawless lyrical poetry, the rising star outlines her position as an independent woman, and communicates what she looks for in a boyfriend. Her impeccable vocal technique consistently adds depth and emotion to her music and storytelling. This up-and-comer could very well be the industry's next Taylor Swift.
2. "Live Off" by Lainey Wilson

A rising trailblazer in country music, the release of "Live Off" marked just one of Wilson's numerous achievements last month. The superstar also received a whopping six nominations for the upcoming CMA awards, as well as performed "Workin' Overtime" from her TV show Yellowstone on the ACM honors. There's nothing not to love about this sensational track, which covers the things that keep her going everyday. "Live Off" precedes Wilson's highly anticipated sophomore record, Bell Bottom Country.
1. "MARILYN" by Kelsea Ballerini

The temptation is so real to just fill this list with songs by Ballerini. There's no doubt that she's currently dominating country music, and has done so for seven years. Fresh off of releasing SUBJECT TO CHANGE and in the middle of her HEARTFIRST tour, the superstar has never once released a bad song. It's so hard to pick a favorite from her newest record, but if we were forced to, it would be this one. "MARILYN" is a personal and relevant ballad exploring the true cost of fame and perfection. If you loved The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo, definitely give it a listen. The bridge will leave you floored.
While we ultimately had to settle on just five songs, last month truly blessed us with tons of great new music. We're sad to see it come to a close, but excited to welcome October. Here's to even more phenomenal releases in the upcoming month!
