Country fans, take note: Riley Green is trading guitar strings for a new kind of spotlight. The country star is set to make his acting debut as Garrett in the highly anticipated Yellowstone spinoff Marshalls, joining familiar faces Luke Grimes (Kayce Dutton) and Logan Marshall-Green (Cal).

“I’m so excited to be joining the cast of Marshalls. Being on set with my buddy Luke Grimes made the experience even more memorable,” Green shared in a statement reported by Variety who broke the news. “This is my first go around in the acting space and I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to this world.”
According to Variety, Green’s character, Garrett, is a former Navy SEAL arriving at the ranch unexpectedly, looking to lean on Kayce and Cal to “put the demons of his past to rest.” It’s a role that promises a mix of grit, heart, and tension, the perfect fit for a musician known for storytelling with depth.
Fans won’t have to wait long to see him in action: Marshalls premieres March 1 on CBS.
While audiences are buzzing over Riley’s acting chops, the bigger question remains: will his Marshalls stint spark any new music? Green has yet to tease a soundtrack or tie-in, but considering his history of blending life experiences into songs, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a few Yellowstone-inspired tunes drop in the near future.
For now, country fans can look forward to seeing Riley Green trade the stage for the screen, and maybe hear a little extra twang along the way.
