Scotty McCreery Scores Fifth "Strait" #1 With “Damn Strait,” Announces Special Concert To Celebrate

Scotty McCreery scored his fifth No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart with his latest single “Damn Strait.”

The country superstar took to Instagram stories on Monday evening (July 19) to reveal the exciting news with fans. McCreery shared a selfie of himself sitting on a plane home from a golf trip in Ireland.

“POV: You find out you have the #1 song on Country Radio this week!!! Damnnn Straittt!!!” McCreery wrote alongside a selfie of himself all smiles.

Right from the beginning Scotty knew that “Damn Strait” was unique, “This one it really does feel different, just the reaction we’re getting in our live show, and socials and it just feels different than the last few. Country Music, for me is what I love, it’s what I breathe, it’s in my core. I feel like if you love Country Music, you love George Strait. Those two things come together, so, it’s nice to see a lot of folks connect with this one," the American Idol winner said in a recent interview.

McCreery adds, “‘Damn Strait’ is a song I feel in love with the second I heard it. You know the way it’s written it’s both your classic country heart break song all at the same time while being a tribute to the King of Country Music himself, George Strait.”

Scotty McCreery’s “Damn Strait” is number-one on the Billboard country music airplay chart.
