Like the standard version of Same Truck, "Small Town Story" details McCreery's personal love story through a traditional country music lens. Of course, it addresses trucks, small towns, love at first sight, and starting a family, motifs that one would commonly expect to find in country songs. With "Small Town Story," McCreery assures fans of the sonic and thematic similarity between the standard tracks and the deluxe tracks. The new single gets fans hyped for more material they're sure to love.
Same Truck: The Deluxe Album is currently available for pre-order in both digital and vinyl formats. It builds on the record's standard version, released last year, which contains the #1 hit single "Damn Strait." The Same Truck era follows 2018's Seasons Change, 2013's See You Tonight, and 2011's Clear As Day, as the trailblazer shows his mastery in several facets of country music since his 2011 American Idol win.
This month, McCreery played a string of shows before officially starting his paternity leave. He recently headlined the historic Gruene Hall in Texas, and House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, SC. Additionally, he appears on Season 3 of CMT Campfire Sessions. Early next year, McCreery will embark on the 15-city Same Truck Tour with King Calaway, Callista Clark, Tenille Arts, and Kameron Marlowe. Its stops will range from Raleigh, NC to Beaver Creek, CO. These shows will undoubtedly be an amazing time, so grab your tickets today!
McCreery gives us yet another of those with "Small Town Story." Lyrics like "It was just black and white, then it all came to light when I met you that night / That's when I started to write the small town story of my life," boost listeners' moods and spirits. On "Small Town Story," McCreery embraces his signature niche in country music to create another gem.
