Shania Twain Wins Music Icon Award At 2022 People's Choice Awards

A legend behind some of the greatest hits of all time, Shania delivered quite the performance and speech yesterday. The queen sang a medley of her most recent single, "Waking Up Dreaming," and some classic staples like "Man! I Feel Like A Woman" and "Any Man Of Mine."

In true Shania fashion, she made a grand entrance featuring elaborate mechanical bulls and dance choreography. She brought the heat to last night's ceremony!

She even altered the lyrics of "That Don't Impress Me Much," humbling this year's Icon Award winner. Brad Pitt sure lucked out this time - she makes it clear that being Ryan Reynolds doesn't impress her much. "Oh my god, me?" he mouthed in response.

Last but not least, Shania offered us some wisdom in her acceptance speech. The heartfelt advice she gave to her Gen Z fans served as a highlight of it. "Giddy-up, kids. Embrace your individuality and your crazy ideas. Just be brave. Let’s remember, there is power in numbers, we are in this together, love is love, and when a door slams in your face, take a freaking run and leap at your door and kick it down! You won’t regret it!" she said.

The music industry is incredibly lucky to have someone like Shania Twain dominating it. She knows how to create art that makes everyone feel celebrated and empowered, as well as put on a memorable show during live performances. Most of all, true to the title of her upcoming album, she inspires us all to be the queen of ourselves!
