Songwriter Griffen Palmer Crosses Over Into Singing With "Second Guessing"
Don’t let the title of the song fool you- its lyrics cover quite the opposite of doubting oneself. Rather, Griffen Palmer details how he knows he’s found the one in this triumphant debut single. With the help of Florida Georgia Line and Shane McAnally, the new Big Loud artist has blessed our New Music Friday with a masterpiece.

While Griffen Palmer is still on the rise, with a debut album due later this year, music has comprised a huge part of his life since childhood. His father inspired his appreciation for lyricism and songwriting, a passion which Palmer continued to develop through four-hour cover sets in dusty Ohio college bars. Connecting with a renowned Grammy nominee, Geoff Warburton, fueled his move to Nashville. Prior to releasing his own music, he has collaborated with stars such as Chelsea Cutler, The Band Camino, Jade Eagleson, and Mackenzie Porter.
“I feel like the song is such an important part of my story as an artist, so I'm excited to put my own spin on it and put it out," Palmer shares. “Seeing the reaction people had to it on Songland was wild. It means a lot to me to have so many people resonate with my music and what I have to say. I've had a lot of people ask me if I was ever going to do my own version, so I wanted to put this out for them. I hope everyone likes it," Palmer said in a press release.
Palmer's launch as an artist has been a welcome one, notably named SiriusXM The Highway's newest “Highway Find” on Wednesday just days after his introduction. Continuing his hot streak, Palmer will join labelmate Lily Rose on tour for her 2023 headline tour kicking off Feb. 9 in Allston, Mass.
The Songland alum incorporates impressive wordplay, strong hooks, and irresistible melodies into this sweet love ballad. His voice, poetic techniques, and persona carry a Midwestern charm, as Palmer boldly introduces himself to the world. The 27-year-old artist promises a versatile approach while maintaining a strong connection to his roots.
