Taylor-Rae Finds 'Heaven Right Now' With Her Most Authentic EP Yet

Taylor-Rae has long been a voice to watch in country music, and with her second EP, Heaven Right Now, she isn’t just raising the bar, she’s pulling back the curtain. The four-track collection is a beautifully crafted meditation on presence, growth, and emotional honesty. Rooted in personal storytelling and backed by the strength of Nashville songwriting heavyweights, the project urges listeners to breathe deep, look inward, and find gratitude in the now.

The EP’s crown jewel is its title track, co-written with Canadian country icon Carolyn Dawn Johnson, a trailblazer in her own right and a guiding force in the studio. Johnson not only helped pen the song but also lends her unmistakable voice to the track, bringing a warm, layered richness to Taylor-Rae’s already evocative vocals. “Heaven Right Now is about tuning out the noise and embracing the moment,” Taylor-Rae shares. “It's the most 'me' I've ever been, and ending the project with this song just felt right.”

From the first note, Heaven Right Now draws listeners into a space that feels more like a conversation than a performance. "Bittersweet," co-written with Aaron Pollock, David Evans, Lydia Sutherland, and Taylor-Rae herself, captures the complicated comfort of memories that linger long after the moment is gone. It’s followed by “Drunk Plans,” a cleverly confessional look at late-night promises and what they reveal, co-penned by Kelly Prescott and Victoria Tullier. The final track before the title closer, “Sendin' Myself To Church,” finds Taylor-Rae in a vulnerable, soul-searching space a modern hymn about redemption, reckoning, and finding faith in yourself.

With Heaven Right Now, Taylor-Rae peels back the layers and delivers a project that doesn’t just show growth it embodies it. There’s a quiet confidence running through these songs, a sense that she’s no longer trying to fit a mold but instead shaping her own. It’s not just an artistic pivot; it’s a declaration of self.

This is Taylor-Rae at her most grounded, most fearless, and most present. And in a world that rarely slows down, Heaven Right Now is a timely reminder that sometimes, the most powerful thing an artist can do is simply tell the truth.
