Toby Keith’s unmistakable baritone, audacious spirit, and chart-topping catalog have long echoed through the heart of country music. Now, some of Nashville’s brightest stars are joining forces to honor the late icon with the release of Apple Music Nashville Sessions: Toby Keith Covered, a heartfelt and electrifying celebration of his enduring legacy.

Available exclusively on Apple Music in Spatial Audio, this special collection reimagines six of Keith’s classic hits through fresh interpretations by Ashley McBryde, Ella Langley, Megan Moroney, Parker McCollum, Riley Green, and Tucker Wetmore. Recorded live in Apple Music’s Nashville studio, each performance pays tribute to the Oklahoma native’s storytelling grit, musical swagger, and the songwriting prowess that made him one of country music’s most defining voices.
The six-track collection spans eras and moods from Keith’s career, with each artist handpicking a song that resonates personally. For Ashley McBryde, it was the raucous “A Little Less Talk and a Lot More Action” from Keith’s 1993 debut that has remained a fixture on her playlists since childhood. “When I think of the word ‘honky-tonk,’ this is one of my references,” said McBryde. “This song has stayed on my bonfire playlist, my go-hang-out-on-a-boat playlist, or whatever the event is. It’s a mainstay.”
Ella Langley brings a soulful gravity to “Wish I Didn’t Know Now,” praising Keith not only as a performer but as a fearless truth-teller. “Whether it was through being onstage or in a writers’ room, he just told the truth and was honest about what he believed in,” said Langley. “It’s inspiring.”

Megan Moroney turns up the tempo with her fiery take on “Who’s Your Daddy?,” a track she and her band adopted as their pre-show anthem. “It felt like the perfect one to choose to cover,” said Moroney. “I hope you love my version as much as we do!”
For Parker McCollum, covering “Who’s That Man” hit especially close to home. “It’s one of my favorite Toby songs and one of my favorite country songs of all time,” said McCollum. “You never had to wonder whose song it was when you heard a Toby song.”
Riley Green revisits one of the most iconic tracks in Keith’s catalog with “Should’ve Been a Cowboy,” a song that captured his imagination growing up in Alabama and has become a mainstay in his live set. “We didn’t have a lot of cowboys where I was from, but that lifestyle just seemed cool. I loved that song as a kid.”

Tucker Wetmore rounds out the tribute with “As Good As I Once Was,” a track he calls “legendary, nostalgic, and something that’ll never grow old.” Wetmore sees Keith’s music as more than timeless, it’s immortal. “Like the old saying goes, legends never die, and neither will his music.”
In a career that spanned more than three decades, Toby Keith not only delivered anthems for the working class and the American dreamer, but also influenced a new generation of artists unafraid to speak their truth. With this collection, that torch burns brighter than ever.
