This year's annual CMT Music Awards celebrated some of the best music videos and TV peformances in the past year! Launched in 2002, the awards highlight the best music videos and performances in the country music genre as voted on by fans. The night in Austin, Texas once again served as a celebration of country music culture and provided a platform for both established and emerging artists to showcase their talent. Here are our favorite moments from the night!


Cody Johnson Opens The Show With "That's Texas"


In a Cody Johnson performance, you can expect powerful vocals, masterful storytelling, and skilled musicianship from both Johnson himself and his band. That is exactly what views got as Johnson opened up the show with his high octane twanger "That's Texas," off his latest album Leather.




Trisha Yearwood “Put It in a Song” With World-Premiere Of Her Deeply Personal New Ballad


The “June Carter Cash Humanitarian Award” country music icon Trisha Yearwood took the stage. Armed with her signature vocal range and emotive delivery, Trisha brought fans to their feet!



Jelly Roll's Heartfelt Speeches After Winning Three Awards


A storyteller at heart, Jelly Roll once again took the stage to accept awards with his signature cadence and messages of hope!


“This is a moment I want to take to thank the fans for everything they have done for me. “I want to thank God, I want to thank my beautiful wife and my daughter at home. One year ago, I was invited to perform at my first award show, and I walked on this stage and I sang ‘Need A Favor’ for the first time on national television right here. What I’m emotional about is in that last year, you have changed my life in every way. I would’ve never thought my life could be changed.” 



Toby Keith Gets A Star-Studded “Red Solo Cup” Salute


Riley Green, Lukas Nelson and Roger Clemens serve as presenters for tribute performances in an all-star salute to Toby Keith - Brooks & Dunn’s lasso “Should’ve Been a Cowboy,” CMTMA first-timer Sammy Hagar rocks “I Love This Bar,” and Lainey Wilson brings a feminine touch to “How Do You Like Me Now” before all gather on stage for a final “Whiskey For My Men, Beer For My Horses” “Red Solo Cup” salute.
