Tyler Hubbard Celebrates Solo Opry Debut And "5 Foot 9" Reaching #1
Following the split of Florida Georgia Line, Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley now explore their sounds as individuals. As they transition into this new chapter, both gain an advantage from their time in country music's most iconic duo. Hubbar further grew his outreach through the viral success of his solo debut, "5 Foot 9," on TikTok, introducing new generations of fans to his music. Last Friday marked his solo Grand Ole Opry debut, during which he celebrated this single's gold certification.

"Stepping into the circle to perform on stage at the Grand Ole Opry is such an incredible honor," said Hubbard. "Being at the Opry with family and friends and getting to celebrate “5 Foot 9” being certified gold is a moment I’ll never forget." He performed this song, as well as fan-favorite "Way Home" and his next radio single "Dancin' In The Country," at the historic venue.
Yesterday, he took to Instagram to express his gratitude for "5 Foot 9" topping the charts. The song reaches these milestones six months after its release, currently sitting at a total of 224 million global streams. Hubbard is the first male country artist formerly in a duo to reach #1 with a solo project, and overall the first debut country artist to hit #1 this year.
“Reaching No.1 with my first single as a solo artist is an incredible feeling,” reflects Hubbard. “I’m overwhelmed with gratitude when I think of everyone who has supported and stood behind me. I’m thankful to the fans, country radio, my team, and everyone at EMI Records and UMG Nashville for believing in me and working so hard to make this dream become a reality.”
"5 Foot 9" appears on Hubbard's EP Dancin' In The Country along with five other tracks, all of which will be featured on his upcoming album. Set to release in January 2023, the self-titled debut record will tell more of Hubbard's personal stories, consistent with the themes of his previously released song. Through his burgeoning solo career, Hubbard introduces both longtime and new fans to different sides of himself. We're so proud of his accomplishments thus far, and can't wait to see more of Tyler!
