Tyler Hubbard Releases Acoustic Version Of Breakout Hit "5 Foot 9"

If you've opened TikTok in the past few months, there's a good chance you've heard Tyler Hubbard's impressive vocals on the song "5 Foot 9." A stunning solo debut, the song details small pleasures in life that Hubbard looks forward to everyday. This includes his wife, family, and the opportunity to make music that identifies with people. Hubbard always emphasizes how much he values the relationship with fans. Now, he connects with them on a deeper, more personal level, through an acoustic version of one of his most popular tracks.

“I’m so excited to be releasing an acoustic version of ‘5 Foot 9’," said Hubbard. “I’m humbled by the response we’ve seen from fans over the past few months. Hearing crowds singing the words back to me on tour has been an incredible experience. For this acoustic version, we started from scratch and really broke down the instrumentation and tempo to give it a different feel. We ended up with an interpretation that we hope brings a new emotion to the song."

Stripping "5 Foot 9" down to just his vocals and a guitar, Hubbard completely re-imagines the song, true to his vision. He transformed an upbeat, karaoke-worthy banger into a goosebump-inducing, intimate ballad. Hubbard indeed does bring new perspectives and emotions to the exact same lyrics that have resonated with fans for months. We are overall obsessed with the approach and output of "5 Foot 9"'s acoustic version!

Though Hubbard's solo career just began this year, he is no stranger to the music industry. His legendary duo, Florida Georgia Line (if you don't live under a rock, you might have heard of them), is behind several #1 hits in both country and mainstream music. For more than a decade, FGL has collected numerous accolades from CMA, ACM, CMT, and Billboard. Hubbard and his former bandmate, Brian Kelley, now re-emerge in Nashville as solo artists, finding their unique sound and perspective.

With a phenomenal EP, Dancin' In The Country, Hubbard is already making his mark as a solo artist. The project debuted at #1 on the Heatseekers Albums chart, #6 on the Current Country Albums sales chart, and #107 on the Billboard 200 chart. “The singer-songwriter has offered a promising collection of six tracks on Dancin’ In The Country," writes Billboard of the triumphant breakthrough. "[They] make good use of his pliable voice and storytelling panache by supporting them with full-bodied production."

Additionally, Hubbard has released beautifully-crafted music videos to accompany several of the album's tracks. Each has intricate cinematography and direction, and most carry greater meanings behind what is happening on the screen. Most recently, Hubbard got to revisit his childhood hobby of roller skating in the "Baby Gets Her Lovin'" music video. This visualizer features fun choreography, colorful sets, and a nice disco ball to accompany the track's upbeat and joyful energy.

He is currently opening for Keith Urban's Speed Of Now tour, and set to make his Grand Ole Opry solo debut on November 11th. He will release his first full-length album in January of next year, which we cannot wait to binge-listen to. In his solo career, Hubbard shows new sides to himself to fans, re-cementing his status as a star in country music.
